Ricardo G. Fuchs Camani Sensei (Kyoshi – 7th dan) is the representative of Matsubayashi-Ryu in Spain. His first contacts with the style begun in 1969 in Argentina with Jintatsu Higa Sensei and his son Oscar Higa Sensei. As from 1974 he continued Matsubayashi-Ryu with Shigehide Akamine Sensei upto 1986,  year in which he left Argentina with his family.

From here on he  depended directly from the founder of the style, O´Sensei Shoshin Nagamine, until November 1997 (when O´Sensei passed away). After this, Camani Sensei depended from the son of O´Sensei Shoshin Nagamine (Soke Takayoshi Nagamine) until his sudden and unexpected death, April 25, 2012.

Today, Camani Sensei belongs to the World Shorin-Ryu Matsubayashi Karate-do Association, whose President is Master Yoshitaka Taira Sensei (Hanshi 10th Dan).

Ricardo Fuchs Camani Sensei has translated to Spanish two books written by O´Sensei Shoshin Nagamine: “The Essence of Okinawan Karate-do” (three editions already published) and “Tales of Okinawa´s Great Masters” (not yet edited). He has also translated several articles related to the Matsubayashi-ryu school of karate-do.

The name of his Dojo is “Camani Dojo”, licence granted by the “World Shorinryu Karate-do Federation” with the signatures of Master Shoshin Nagamine and Soke Takayoshi Nagamine.
